11 New Road Littleport (Shepperton). The first house that I stayed at when we came down South 42 years ago. It looks as if nothing has changed.
The roundabout at the park in Shepperton where I used to help organise and run the Summer fair. Led by Pipe Bands when I was involved.
Shepperton Old Church.
Blubeckers restaurant at the mouth of the square. Used to be one of the most sought after places to eat with waiting lists. Often frequented by pop and movie stars. Sad to see its demise.
Although not obvious from this shot, the square has seen a sad decline with both of its hotels/restaurants closed.
34 St Nicholas Drive in Shepperton and again has not really changed (apart from the addition of the aerial). We moved from the bungalow to here after 2.5 years. It backs on to a fishing lake with lots of small islands where the children had lots of fun.
Visited June and John my old neighbours so as to catch up on all the gossip.
Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower at Gunwharf Quays.
One of the ferries travelling to and from the Isle of Wight that we used to use when the children were younger.
A ceremonial crane left as a reminder that the redeveloped quays were in fact a prosperous waterside.
A tribute to the mine sweepers who were once based at the quays.
One of Southsea amusements.
We made many a day trip to the Isle of Wight on the hovercraft from Southsea.
Statue of Nelson with the remains of the old Portsmouth church in the background.
